Feeding an endurance horse

5 02 2013

What I’m feeding is from Elk Grove Milling:

Look at the Stable Mix product – they have various versions of it, the regular, performance and a senior mix, and also with and without glucosamine/chondroitin. I have been using the senior mix at vet checks during rides and the regular Stable Mix the rest of the time. My horses love it and they have been thriving on it for close to two years now. Hopefully you can get it in your area or find it close enough to be worth the drive — if so, you could pick up a barrel (250#) or two at a time. I’ve recommended this feed to several friends this season who have all reported back having great success and are VERY happy with it. It will definitely help with getting weight back on your horses — I’ve not seen a horse yet that hasn’t thrived on it.
